The Lunar II Rabbit 1 oz gold coin is the fourth animal in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac. Based on the appearance of the new moon, it associates a different animal with each year in the 12 year Lunar cycle.

Design
The motif side of the coin depicts a Rabbit next to a cabbage and a pot. The Chinese character for Rabbit can be seen above the motif. On the bottom outer edge the words “YEAR OF THE RABBIT” are engraved. The letter “P”, which represents the Perth Mint, is inscripted to the left of the cabbage. The coin edge is reeded and slightly raised, which protects the coin surface.
The value side depicts the profile of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The queen is shown wearing a royal crown and earring. The engravings around the outer edge are the name of the regent “ELIZABETH II”, the country of origin “AUSTRALIA”, the face value of “100 DOLLARS”, the year of issue “2011” and the fine weight and purity “1 oz 9999 GOLD”.
