Gold bars from the Perth Mint are some of the most popular gold bullion products on the market today. The bars are high quality and have global appeal with investors. Perth Mint gold bars are ideal for first time gold investors or for those who are looking to add to a current gold portfolio.

Manufacturer

The prestigious Perth Mint started operations in 1899 as a branch of the Royal Mint London. It has one of the world's largest selection of investment bars and bullion coins. The portfolio includes all standard bars for private investors - 1kg, 500g, 250g, 100g, 50g, 20g, 10g, 5g and 1g. The Perth Mint also offers its customers gold bars measured in ounces with the following weights: 1/2oz, 1oz, 2.5oz, 5oz, 10oz, 20oz, 50oz and 400 oz LBMA ingots.

The Perth Mint is also known to German investors because of their numerous bullion coins. Among the best known are: Kangaroo Gold Coins, Kangaroo Silver Coins, Lunar Gold Coins, Lunar Silver Coins, Kookaburra and Koala coins.

Manufacturing

The manufacture of 50g gold bars are usually first shaped. The advantage here is that the production is cheaper and the gold ingot becomes more flat. The process begins with the production of gold plates in a certain thickness, from which the ingot blanks are punched out in the next step.

After that, the bars are checked for their weight and if necessary reworked. Then the actual embossing takes place, whereby the surface structure and inscription is impressed. The front of the gold bar shows the name of the manufacturer "The Perth Mint" plus logo, fine weight, fineness and precious metal detail.

Tax

Gold bars are exempt from VAT as they are viewed as “investment” gold.
