Kangaroo 1oz Silver Coin 2022 margin scheme

The Perth Mint stands as Australia's official bullion mint, under the ownership of the Government of Western Australia. It was established in 1899 and has earned acclaim for its exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to minting standards. Originally known as the Gold Nugget, the Kangaroo bullion coin was redesigned in 1990 to feature the nation’s beloved kangaroo and in 2015 the silver Kangaroo bullion coin was introduced.

The reverse of the Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Coin 2022 was designed by Stuart Devlin and displays an adult kangaroo suspended in mid-air surrounded by stylised rays of sunlight. The inscription 'Kangaroo', together with the coin's weight and purity encircle the image. The mintmark 'P' is also displayed. A micro-laser engraved letter, visible only under magnification, is included as a security measure.

The obverse features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark in 2015. The surrounding legend is engraved with wavy lines and displays the text ‘ ᐧ ELIZABETH II  AUSTRALIA ᐧ ’ and ‘1 DOLLAR’. 

The Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Coin 2022 contains one troy ounce of 999.9 fine silver and has a metric weight of 31.10 grams. It measures 40.60 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 3.21 mm. The face value is one Australian Dollar. The 2022 Kangaroo bullion coin is also available in gold in weights of 1oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz, and in platinum with a weight of 1oz.
