Appearance
The 2015 Somalia Elephant 1 oz Gold Coin shows two elephants running towards the viewer. The elephants are depicted in the African savannah, with an acacia tree and three birds flying in the background setting. The frame of the motif is a stepped edge area, which is labeled "AFRICAN WILDLIFE ᛫ ELEPHANT ᛫ 1 oz Au 999".
On the value side, the Somali state coat of arms is depicted. The coat of arms is shown as a crowned shield with a star in the center. The shield is supported by two leopards standing upright on crossed spears. Below the coat of arms, between the leopards, two crossed fronds are depicted above the spears. The spears are surrounded by a ribbon. The inscriptions around the outer edge read "SOMALI REPUBLIC ᛫ 2015 ᛫ 1.000 SHILLINGS".
