The 5 Rouble Gold coin was minted from 1886-1894, during the reign of Alexander III. Each coin has a purity of 90% gold and a weight of 6.45 grams. Alexander III ruled Russia from 1881-1894. These coins were minted in limited quantities and are more rare than the gold coins issued during the reign of Nicholas II.
The front side of the coin depicts a right side profile view of Alexander III.
The reverse side shows the coat of arms of Russia, which is a crown with a two headed eagle. The date of issue and nominal value can be seen on the lower outer edge.
The coins were produced by the St. Petersburg Mint and have a fine gold content of 0.1867 oz.
