The Queen’s Beasts Collection by the Royal Mint in Wales is a beautiful tribute to the history of Great Britain and Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Completer Coin is an exquisite piece representing each of the ten beasts in this fascinating collection produced by the mint. The stone beasts were created to stand guard at the coronation of the late queen which took place at Westminster Abbey in London in June 1953.
The reverse of the coin displays each of the beasts around the edge of the coin with a miniature version of Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the centre. There is also the additional detail of a chainmail background. The words ‘ ᐧ THE QUEEN’S BEASTS ᐧ 1OZ ᐧ FINE GOLD ᐧ 999.9 ᐧ 2021’ surround the image with various paws, hooves and feet overlapping the writing.
The obverse of the coin features the full-sized portrait of Her Late Majesty by Jody Clark together with the face value of 100 pounds and the lettering ‘ᐧ ELIZABETH II ᐧ D ᐧ G ᐧ REG ᐧ F ᐧ D ᐧ ’.
The Queen's Beasts Completer 1oz Gold Coin 2021 is crafted from one troy ounce of fine gold which equates to a metric weight of 31.10 grams. The diameter of the coin is 32.69 mm.
