Obverse:
Within an inner circle the picture of the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest in the Temple of Heaven is shown with Chinese characters. Within the circle and coin edge at the top reading "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo" meaning People's Republic of China. The year of issue „1994“ is shown at the bottom in the inner circle under the Temple design.
Reverse:
A sitting panda stripping a bamboo branch of its leaves with two bamboo shoots on the rock. To the panda’s right around the edge of the coin the characters “Au, 1oz” and then metric purity „.999“ is engraved. Below the rock are the nominal value 100 and symbol for Yuan imprinted.
