The 1993 Panda Gold Coin here is brilliant uncirculated condition and sold in the original sealed packing. This is the second year of the changed obverse design. It should be noted that Panda gold coins are not sold domestically within China and are only for foreign sale.
The very attractive panda designs make these coins most popular to worldwide collectors and investors and the design of the panda changes every year. Several Chinese mints can produce the Panda gold coins. Chinese mints usually do not employ mintmarks but minor changes in size of writing occur when more than one mint is used. Obverse:
Picture of the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest in the Temple of Heaven, Within an outer ring around the Temple Chinese characters are shown on the top reading "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo" meaning People's Republic of China. The year of issue „1992“ is shown at the bottom under the temple design.
Reverse:
One adult Panda is shown sitting on a rock with bamboo leaves to the front and two bamboo shoots to it’s left. Above the panda head are the mint details showing metric purity „.999“ and „Au 1 oz.“. To the front of the panda head above the branches the nominal value 100 and symbol for Yuan are shown.
