The coin includes inscriptions of "AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO," the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, the year of issue, and details of the coin's weight and purity.
On the obverse there is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by artist Jody Clark, with the inscription "ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA" together with the coin's legal tender value of 100 dollars.
