The Australian Dragon 1oz Gold Coin Rectangular 2023 is a beautiful example of the work of the Perth Mint with the finely detailed dragon displayed on the reverse, each scale on its body skilfully crafted. The background is also highly detailed with a small image of a buddha and a couple of what look like open ‘treasure’ chests. There is also a tiny doorway in the rocks at the top. It is a very intriguing image. The initials WR are inscribed which represent the designer Wade Robinson. The mintmark ‘P’ is also shown to the left.

The obverse displays Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The inscription ‘ELIZABETH II’ with ‘1952-2022’ is displayed in the upper part and ‘AUSTRALIA’ together with ‘1oz 9999 Au’ also above the image. Below it reads ‘100 DOLLARS’ with ‘2023’ at the bottom.
