Design
The motif side of the Cayman Islands Marlin gold coin depicts a blue marlin leaping from the water. The marlin’s bill extends to the outer edge of the coin. In the background are ripples that surround the marlin, which adds to the beauty and intricacy of the design. Above the marlin are the letters “ER”, which represent the famous Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II. The inscriptions around the bottom outer edge read “2018 MARLIN 1OZ .9999 GOLD”.
The value side depicts a right side profile of Queen Elizabeth II. The design of the background is a wavy pattern that resembles the surface of the water. The engravings around the coins outer edge are “ELIZABETH II” “CAYMAN ISLANDS” “5 Dollars” and “2018”.
