Antigua & Barbuda 1oz Gold Coin Rum Runner 2018
The Antigua and Barbuda Rum Runner gold coin is the first release in a new series issued on behalf of 8 Caribbean Island members. The EC8 (Eastern Caribbean 8) coin program will consist of 8 gold coin releases that have a limited mintage and a purity of 0.9999 fine gold.
The member Caribbean Islands include Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. A unique design will be minted for each member island. There are four releases planned for 2018.
Product Specifications
The Antigua and Barbuda gold coin is available in the traditional one ounce weight. In addition, the coin is considered legal tender in the EC8. The EC8 all share the Eastern Caribbean Dollars as the common common currency, which is produced by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The coins are manufactured and distributed by the Scottsdale Mint in Arizona.

Design
The motif side of the coin depicts a pirate ship sailing out to sea with a cargo of rum from the islands of Antigua and Barbuda. The inscription around the top outer edge reads “ANTIGUA & BARBUDA”. The year of issue “2018” is engraved to the right of the pirate ship.
The value side depicts a portrait of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II framed inside of two feathers. The inscriptions around the outer edge are the name of the regent “ELIZABETH II”, the weight and purity “1OZ .9999 GOLD”, the nominal value of “TEN DOLLARS” and the official issuer of the currency “EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK”
