Denmark contributes 2 gold products at CelticGold representing the Danish Kingdom's distinguished numismatic tradition. Danish gold coins from the 19th and early 20th centuries – primarily 10- and 20-krone pieces from the reigns of Christian IX (1863–1906) and Frederik VIII (1906–1912) – are elegant Scandinavian collector pieces in 900/1,000 fineness.
History – The Scandinavian Monetary Union
Denmark joined the Scandinavian Monetary Union (1873–1914) alongside Sweden and Norway – creating a common gold standard and currency system comparable to the Latin Monetary Union. Danish 20-krone gold coins (8.0645 g, 900/1,000 = 7.258 g fine gold) were standardised with their Swedish and Norwegian equivalents. The Union's collapse at the outbreak of WWI ended regular Danish gold coinage.
