The Myths and Legends bullion series by the Royal Mint in Wales draws inspiration from King Arthur, a legendary figure from mediaeval British literature and folklore. According to legend, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon and Igraine, rose to power by pulling the magical sword Excalibur from a stone, becoming Britain's rightful king. Under his rule, Camelot prospered, with Arthur establishing a code of chivalry and assembling the noble Knights of the Round Table.

The coin's obverse features King Arthur wearing his crown and flowing robes, holding Excalibur, with Camelot depicted in the background. This striking image, crafted by illustrator and sculptor Philip Lawrence, includes intricate frosting on the king and castle, along with a hexality texture in the background, adding dimension and catching light from various angles.

The reverse was designed by Martin Jennings and was one of the first portraits of His Majesty King Charles III to be featured on a coin.

The one-ounce silver coin is made of 999/1000 silver and has a metric weight of 31.10 grams. It measures 38.61 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 3.00 mm. It is legal tender in the United Kingdom with a denomination of £2. The King Arthur bullion coin is also available in a 1oz gold version.

With the potential for appreciation over time and the opportunity to diversify investment portfolios, acquiring coins from this series could be a rewarding choice for collectors and investors alike.
