The reverse of the Lunar III Dragon ½ oz Silver Coin 2024 showcases Ing Ing Jong’s beautiful interpretation of a dragon head-on with flames coming from its mouth as it clutches for a flaming pearl. The Chinese character for dragon is included below with the word also in English and the year of issue. The special mintmark to celebrate 125 years of the Perth Mint is also displayed.
The obverse features Jody Clark's Memorial Obverse of Queen Elizabeth II, it includes the dates of her reign, the weight, purity and monetary denomination of the coin. The coin is recognised as legal tender in Australia with a face value of fifty cents.
To enhance security, the coin features an authentication element consisting of a micro-laser engraved letter that is visible only under magnification.
