The prestigious Lunar III series from the Perth Mint commemorates the Chinese zodiac with a collection of coins and 2023 is the year of the rabbit. The reverse of the Lunar III Rabbit 2oz Silver Coin 2023 showcases two rabbits, one on its hind legs reaching for a branch whilst the other sits on the ground beside it. Crafted by Ing Ing Jong, the design features the Chinese character for rabbit and is inscribed with ‘RABBIT 2023’ along with the mintmark ‘P’.
On the obverse, Jody Clark's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is displayed, encircled by details of weight, purity, and monetary denomination, with a face value of 2 AUD.
The Lunar III Rabbit 2oz Silver Coin 2023 has a diameter of 50.80 mm and a thickness of 4.80 mm. It is available in various weights in silver including 1 kilo, 5oz, 1oz, and ½ oz. There is also a gold version of the 2023 Lunar III Rabbit featuring a different reverse image.
