Advantage
One of the key advantages of the 1/2oz Gold American Eagle is the gold alloy. The blend of gold, silver and copper give the coin an ideal combination of durability and beauty. The copper content allows for good scratch resistance, while the silver content gives the gold coin a bright and shinny appearance.
In addition, for those investors who are looking for a well designed coin, the American Eagle offers a detailed and unique motif on the front and back of the coin. The Front features a full length figure of “lady liberty” designed by renaissance artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
The reverse of the coin features an image of a male bald eagle flying over a nest and carrying an olive branch, which was designed by sculptor Miley Busiek.
