The Britannia 1/10oz Gold Coin 2021 was designed by Philip Nathan and the image has graced the coin since 1987. The reverse presents Britannia with the traditional symbolism of a shield for protection, an olive branch for peace and a trident to represent Britain's seafaring history.
On the obverse, there is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, accompanied by the coin's face value in the surrounding legend. With a denomination of £10, the coin holds legal tender status in the UK.
The coin has four advanced security elements to protect against counterfeiting. These include a latent image revealing a padlock when tilted, dynamic waves in the background on the reverse, micro-text, and tincture lines on the Union flag.
