Chinese mints usually do not employ mintmarks. The obverse pictures the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest in the Temple of Heaven with Chinese characters reading on top. "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo" meaning People's Republic of China. The year of issue „1986“ is shown at the bottom. One adult Panda is shown walking through the bamboo grove. In its natural habitat looking slightly to the left with bamboo plants to the left and right. Below the Panda motif the value of 100 Yuan can be read. Above the motif chinese characters display size and purity followed to the right by metric purity „.999“ and „1 OZ Au.“. A total of 107,132 coins were minted. The 1986 1 oz coin has 32mm diameter.
