Leopold ruled Belgium from 1831 to 1865 and was the first King of Belgium after the country achieved independence from the Netherlands. The 20 Franc Leopold gold coin was minted from 1834-1841 and then again in 1865. The 1865 edition is more available due to the higher mintage.
