The Vienna Philharmonic is the most popular investment gold coin series in Europe. According to the World Gold Council, in 1992, 1995, 1996 and 2000 the Vienna Philharmonic was the best selling gold coin in the world.
Every year depicts the same classic design of the famous Golden Hall in Vienna and the eight instruments of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
The 2019 Vienna Philharmonic ½ oz gold coin has a fineness of 999.9 gold and a face value of 50 Euros.
The motif side of the coin shows the orchestra instruments, which include a cello in the center with 2 violins on either side. The bassoon, harp and flute can be seen in the background. Along the top outer edge is the engraving “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER”.
The value side depicts the pipe organ in the Vienna Musikverein Golden Hall. The inscriptions include “REPUBLIK OSTERREICH”, “½ UNZE 999.9 GOLD”, “2019” and “50 EURO.
The Vienna Philharmonic Gold coin was designed by Austrian Mint, chief engraver, Thomas Pesendorfer.
