Design
The motif side of the coin shows the head of a Tiger. Below the Tiger is the inscription “YEAR OF THE TIGER”. The Chinese Character for Tiger can be seen above the motif. To the right is the letter “P”, which represents the Perth Mint.
The value side of the coin shows the right side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The image of the Queen was created by artist and engraver Ian Rank-Broadley. The engravings on the outer edge are “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA”, “50 DOLLARS”, “2010” and “½ oz 9999 GOLD”.
