Following the huge success of the original Lunar gold coin program, the Perth Mint introduced the Lunar II series in 2008. The Lunar II Ox was released in 2009 and is the second coin in the series.
The Lunar II Ox 1/10 oz gold coin has a fineness of .9999 gold and a declared minage of 10,836 coins.
The “Year of the Ox” design features a Lunar Ox lying on the grass with bamboo leaves above.
The reverse side design shows the portrait of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The portrait of the queen was created by Ian Rank-Broadley. The country of origin, face value, date of issue and fine weight are inscripted on the outer edge.
