The Lunar II gold coin series is one of the most popular gold bullion coin programs from the Perth Mint. The 12 year coin series features the animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The “Year of the Mouse” is the first animal in the 12 year lunar cycle.

The motif side of the coin shows a mouse on a bed of rocks with chili peppers clustered above.
The value side depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The queen is shown with a royal diadem and earring.
