Nadir Metal Rafineri A.Ş. was founded in 1967 in Istanbul and began refining precious metals in 1975. In 1996, it opened the first gold refinery on Turkish soil, followed by a technology partnership with the German company Degussa in 1999. In 2006, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company. The refinery received accreditation from the Istanbul Gold Exchange in 2008, from the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) in 2009, and from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) for gold in 2011 and for silver in 2012.
Today, Nadir Metal employs around 150 staff and has an annual capacity of approximately 125–150 tons of gold and 200–250 tons of silver. At its Istanbul site, the company offers services such as refining, recycling, laboratory analysis, as well as the production and trading of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium). Under the brand name “NadirGold,” it also produces small investment bars and coins ranging from 1 gram to 1 kilogram.
