Somalia Elephant 1oz Silver Coin 2023 margin scheme
The Somalia Elephant 1oz Silver Coin 2023 is produced by the Bavarian State Mint in Munich and is part of the African Wildlife series introduced in 1999.
The motif of the coin features an adult elephant reaching up and wrapping its trunk around a branch to eat, with leaves visible in its mouth. In the background is an African landscape with a distant hill and tree and the sun shining in a clear sky. The inscription reads " ᐧ AFRICAN WILDLIFE ᐧ " at the top and “ELEPHANT ᐧ 1 oz Ag 999.9" at the bottom.
The value side of the coin displays the coat of arms for Somalia which consists of two leopards, standing on spears, holding a shield bearing the Somali flag. The inscription reads "SOMALIA REPUBLIC" above the image and the year of issue is shown with "20" to the left and "23" to the right of the coat of arms. There is a decorative circle of dots inside the rim and a reeded edge to the coin. The face value of "100 SHILLINGS" is displayed at the bottom and the coin is recognised as legal tender in the Somali Republic.
The Somalia Elephant 1oz Silver Coin 2023 contains one troy ounce of fine silver with a purity of 999.9/1000 and has a metric weight of 31.10 grams. It measures 39.00 mm in diameter. Somalia Elephant 2023 bullion coins are also available in gold in weights of 1oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz.
