🇸🇴 Somalia Elephant 2015 – 1 oz Silver Coin – African Nature Motif in Clear Minting
The Somalia Elephant 2015 – 1 oz silver coin belongs to an internationally recognized series that has depicted African elephants in changing designs for many years. Each issue of the series offers a new interpretation of the motif, combining nature-inspired imagery with modern minting techniques. The 2015 issue continues this tradition and presents the elephant in a calm, balanced composition, characterized by clear line work and an objective design.
The obverse features the coat of arms of Somalia, consisting of a shield with a star held by two leopards. The depiction is precisely modeled and clearly contoured. Surrounding inscriptions indicate the issuing country, the denomination, and the year of issue 2015. The lettering is evenly integrated into the surface, allowing the silver to express its bright and calm appearance. The overall design of the obverse remains balanced and orderly.
The reverse is dedicated to the elephant as the central motif of the series. The animal appears in a natural posture, conveying strength and composure through its calm presence. The powerful body, the characteristic trunk, and the distinct contours are finely detailed. The skin texture is subtly modeled, giving the relief a sculptural depth. The background is deliberately restrained, allowing the elephant to remain clearly at the center and to unfold its effect through form and proportion.
The line work is precise and calm, with each contour clearly defined. Light and shadow glide gently across the surface, giving the motif a subtle spatial effect. Integrated into the reverse are the inscriptions 1 oz weight and 999 silver, discreetly embedded within the coin design. These details integrate harmoniously into the composition and do not disturb the calm visual impression of the motif.
The 1 oz denomination provides sufficient space for the fine details of the design to remain clearly visible. The silver appears in a bright, even luster, emphasizing the precision of the minting work. The surface looks balanced and calm, while the relief heights are clearly defined. The cleanly finished rim forms a harmonious conclusion to the coin.
The Somalia Elephant series combines nature depiction with modern minting craftsmanship. The elephant symbolizes strength, endurance, and composure. The 2015 issue continues this symbolism and preserves the calm style that has made the series internationally known.
The Somalia Elephant 2015 – 1 oz silver coin unites a nature motif, clear design, and the quiet presence of silver. It presents the elephant as a powerful yet calm symbol of African wildlife, minted in silver and designed with structure, precision, and timeless clarity.
