First released from the US Mint on November 24th, 1986, the American Eagle is one of the longest running silver bullion coin programs on the market today.

Appearance
The coins has an edge bar, ribbed edge and very beautiful motifs.
Obverse:
The Walking Liberty motif is shown on the front with a robe and has the American Flag draped over her shoulders.
In her arms she holds laurel and oak branches. On the upper outer edge of the coin is the word "LIBERTY" and to the right of the motif reads "IN GOD WE TRUST". Below the motif, the mintage year is engraved.
Reverse:
The back depicts the Great Seal of the United States. The central figure of the seal is a bald eagle holding a shield with the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
Above the Bald Eagle motif 13 stars are imprinted, which represent the former 13 founding colonies of the United States. The inscription above the American Eagle reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". Below the motif is "1OZ.” “FINE SILVER” and “ONE DOLLAR" to be seen.
