Perth Mint

Originally called the Gold Nugget, the Kangaroo bullion coin was redesigned in 1990 to feature the iconic kangaroo, with a silver version introduced in 2015.
The reverse of the Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Coin 2021, designed by Stuart Devlin, depicts an adult kangaroo mid-leap, surrounded by rays of sunlight. The inscription 'Kangaroo,' along with the coin's weight and purity, encircles the image, and the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark is also featured. A micro-laser engraved letter, visible only under magnification, serves as a security feature.
The obverse showcases an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark in 2015. The surrounding legend, engraved with wavy lines, includes the text ‘ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA’ and ‘1 DOLLAR’. The coin is legal tender in Australia.
The Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Coin 2021 contains one troy ounce of 999.9 fine silver and has a metric weight of 31.10 grams. It measures 40.60 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 3.21 mm. The 2021 Kangaroo bullion coin is also available in gold in weights of 1oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz, and in platinum with a weight of 1oz.
