To commemorate the 1988 XXIV Olympic games in Seoul, South Korea issued four gold coins all with a weight of 15.55 grams, a purity of .925 gold and a nominal value of 25000 won. Each gold coin has a different design that highlights the unique heritage and folklore of South Korea. The names of the four gold coins are:

The Korea Seesaw Olympic gold coin depicts three Korean women playing seesaw. Korean seesaw, also called neolttwigi, is a traditional Korean game mostly played by women and girls, typically during the holidays. The Olympic logo is engraved above the seesaw and the nominal value can be seen on the bottom outer edge.
The reverse side shows the coat of arms of Korea. Below the coat of arms is a floral display. The date of issue is inscripted on the bottom portion of the coin.
