The Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt (Bavarian State Mint), located in Munich, is one of the oldest still-operating mints in Germany. Officially established in 1871, its origins date back to the 12th century.

The sun can be seen in the background shining over the landscape of the African savannah. The surrounding inscription reads "· AFRICAN WILDLIFE · ELEPHANT · 1/4 oz Au 999.9".
The value side of the coin displays the Somali coat of arms, symbolising the country of issue. Alongside the national emblem, you’ll find the year of minting, “2023” as well as the inscription “200 SHILLINGS” representing the coin’s face value. Additionally, the country’s name is prominently featured, adding to the coin’s authenticity and official status.
