The reverse of the American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin 2023 features an exquisite relief portrait of a bald eagle designed by Jennie Norris, along with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST". The weight and the denomination of 5 dollars are also displayed.
On the obverse, Lady Liberty strides forward, carrying an olive branch in her left hand and a flaming torch in her right. The sun's rays can be seen behind her and the US Capitol building is shown in the background. Above Lady Liberty the word "LIBERTY" is inscribed with the year of issue "2023" on the right.
The American Eagle ¼ oz Gold Coin 2023 contains one-tenth of a troy ounce of 916/1000 gold, with a metric fine weight of 3.11 grams. It measures 16.50 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 1.19 mm. The American Eagle bullion coin is also available in weights of 1 oz, ½ oz, and ¼ oz in gold and 1 oz in silver.
