The obverse of the Krugerrand ¼ oz Gold Coin 2025 showcases a portrait of Paul Kruger, designed by Otto Schultz in 1892, with the inscriptions “SUID-AFRIKA” (Afrikaans for South Africa) and “SOUTH AFRICA” in English.

The reverse depicts a pronking springbok and includes the inscription “KRUGERRAND” along with the year of mintage and the coin’s weight.

The coin has a gold purity of 917/1000 and a high copper content, enhancing its durability and giving it a distinctive reddish hue. Though it carries no face value, it is legally recognised as tender in South Africa.

The Krugerrand ¼ oz Gold Coin 2025 is minted from a quarter of a troy ounce of fine gold and has a fine weight of 7.78 grams. It has a diameter of 22.00 mm and a thickness of 1.89 mm. The Krugerrand is also available in weights of 1 oz, ½ oz and 1/10 oz in gold and 1 oz in silver.

Renowned for its history, craftsmanship and prestige, the Krugerrand is one of the world’s most coveted bullion coins, representing both wealth and stability.
