The Vienna Philharmonic ½ oz Gold Coin 2023 has a denomination of 50 euros and is made of 24 karat gold with a fineness of 999.9/1000 and a metric weight of 15.55 grams. The diameter of the coin is 28.00 mm and it has a thickness of 1.6 mm.
The motif on the obverse shows the famous Musikverein Pipe Organ of the Vienna Music Association, which can be found in the Golden Hall in Vienna. The reverse displays a number of musical instruments with a cello at the centre.
Both sides of the coin were designed by Thomas Pesendorfer in 1989 and have remained unchanged ever since.
