The China Panda Gold coin is issued by the People’s Republic of China and was first introduced in 1982. The Panda is one of the few official gold bullion coins that feature annual design changes. However, the main motif will always depict one or more panda’s in their natural environment.
The 2019 Panda 3 gram gold coin has a fineness of .999 gold and a nominal value of 50 Yuan.
In 2016 the China Mint changed the measurement system of the Panda from ounces to grams. The 1/10 oz Gold Panda was replaced with this 3 gram Gold Panda.
The new design for 2019 features a mother panda holding her baby panda. The engravings are the the nominal value, fine weight and purity.
The reverse side shows the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The temple was visited by Emperors for ceremonies of prayer to heaven for a good harvest. The inscriptions include the country of origin and the year of issue.
