The China Gold Coin Incorporation was established in 1987 and is a subsidiary of the People's Bank of China. They issue precious metal coins, including the China Panda, the panda being China’s national symbol. However, the first China Panda coin was produced in 1982 by the China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation.

China Panda Gold Coins are highly sought after worldwide due to their delightful designs together with China's growing prominence in the global precious metals market. They are considered valuable additions to investment portfolios and attractive pieces for collectors with additional appeal as beautiful gift ideas.

Reverse

The panda design on the reverse changes annually, with the exception of 2001-2002 when the same image was used. The 30g China Panda gold coin 2023 depicts two young pandas climbing in a bamboo tree, one reaching its paw out to the one above. It also displays the face value of the coin of 500 yuan and “30g Au.999”. This charming image was designed by a young Chinese artist named Tong Fang.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin displays the iconic Temple of Heaven which is located in Dongcheng, Beijing. The temple was built by the Yongle Emperor in the 15th century, however it was later extended and renamed during the reign of Emperor Jailing in the 16th century. The Chinese characters that say "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo", which means People’s Republic of China, also appear on the obverse of the coin.

The first China Panda gold coin had a weight of 1 troy ounce but the People’s Republic of China changed to the metric system in 2016 and all new coins have been issued in grams ever since.

The China Panda 30 gram gold coin has a purity of 999/1000. It has a diameter of 32.0 mm and a face value of 500 Yuan.

These delightful designs have great reach due to the highly popular images of the panda, one of the world’s most well-loved animals.
