The 1oz Vienna Philharmonic is one of the most successful gold investment coins in Europe. With annual circulation of several hundred thousand pieces, demand for the Austrian coin has remained high since 1989.

The Vienna Philharmonic 1 oz gold coin 2023 is made of 24 karat fine gold with a fineness of 999.9/1000 and a fine weight of 31.103 g. The diameter of the gold coin is 37.00 mm and it has a thickness of 2.00 mm.

The knurling has an edge bar and a fluted edge. Both elements serve the security and design. The edge bar also has the task of enabling the coins to be stacked better and to minimize scratching of the surface of the coin.

The motif on the obverse is determined by the representation of the famous organ of the Vienna Music Association, which is located there in the Golden Hall in Vienna. You can also see part of the balcony (balustrade) on which the organ stands. The inscription on the edge above the motif is "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" and directly below the motif is "1 UNZE GOLD 999.9" and below that the year of issue. The face value of “100 EURO” is also written on the edge at the bottom of the design.

The reverse of the Vienna Philharmonic 1 oz gold coin 2023 shows typical classical music instruments. A horn, bassoon and a harp can be seen in the background. The five string instruments to the front include a cello, shown in the middle, violas to the left and right of the central cello with violins next to them. The name of the gold coin can be read above the motif: “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER”.
