The obverse of the Vienna Philharmonic ½ oz Gold Coin 2022 prominently features the Great Organ in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, which is where the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra perform. Additionally, it includes the inscription "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" (Republic of Austria). The weight, purity and year of issue are also shown as well as the monetary denomination of "50 EURO" which signifies its status as legal tender.
The reverse displays an array of musical instruments to represent the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. These include a cello, four violins, a bassoon, a harp and a Viennese horn. The inscription reads "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER".
The Vienna Philharmonic ½ oz Gold Coin 2022 contains ½ a troy ounce of 999.9/1000 fine gold which is equivalent to 15.55 grams of 24 karat gold. It measures 28.00 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 1.60 mm. The Vienna Philharmonic bullion coin is also available in weights of 1 oz, ¼ oz, 1/10 oz and 1/25 oz in gold and 1 oz in fine silver.
