The obverse of the Vienna Philharmonic 1/10oz Gold Coin 2021 displays the Great Organ from the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, the concert venue of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The design also includes the inscription “REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH” meaning “Republic of Austria” along with the coin’s weight, purity, year of issue and face value of 10 euros.
On the reverse some musical instruments are featured to symbolise the orchestra, these include a cello, a bassoon, a harp, a Viennese horn and four violins. The inscription reads “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER”.
The Vienna Philharmonic 1/10 oz Gold Coin 2021 contains one tenth of a troy ounce of 999.9/1000 fine gold with a metric equivalent weight of 3.11 grams. The purity equates to 24 karats. It measures 16.00 mm in diameter. The Vienna Philharmonic bullion coin is also available in weights of 1oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/25 oz in gold and 1oz in fine silver.
