The 2017 Vienna Philharmonic fractional coin series is available in ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10th oz. There is also a 1/25 oz fractional Philharmonic that was introduced in 2014. These fractional coins are brilliantly designed and some of the most popular bullion coins in the world.

The design of the Gold Philharmonic celebrates Vienna’s famous orchestra. The orchestra was founded in 1842 and is an integral part of the culture and history of Austria.

Gold Philharmonic coins from Austria have been best selling coins in Europe and worldwide. They are an excellent coin for investors or collectors.

Diameter: 22 mm

Vienna Philharmonic

The Vienna Philharmonic was introduced in 1989. The first Gold Philharmonics were issued in 1 oz and ¼ oz  sizes. The 1/10 oz and ½ oz coins were introduced in 1991 and 1994.

In 2014, to honor the 25th anniversary of the Philharmonic, the Austrian Mint introduced a 1/25 oz Philharmonic with a face value of 4 Euro. This is one of the smallest fractional size gold coins on the market.

All Gold Philharmonics have the same design with the only difference being the weight and nominal value.

In 2008 the Austrian Mint introduced a 1 ounce Silver Philharmonic with a face value of 1.50 Euro. The coin has the same design as the Gold Philharmonic and is 99.9% pure silver.

Because of the overall success of the Philharmonic, the mint also introduced a Platinum version in 2016 that has the same design as the gold and silver Philharmonic. The Platinum coin has a face value of 100 Euros and a purity level of 999.5 platinum.
