From the introduction of the first edition in 1989 up until 2012 more than 14 million Gold Philharmonics have been sold.  The first edition was only minted in two sizes which included the 1 oz and 1/4 oz coins. The 1/10 oz was issued in 1991 and the 1/2 oz was introduced in 1994.
