The reverse features a mythical Chinese dragon amidst fog and stylised waves, symbolising its mastery over the elements. The design, by celebrated artist Ing Ing Jong, also includes the Chinese character for dragon, the inscription ‘DRAGON 2024’ and the ‘P125’ mintmark celebrating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
The obverse displays Jody Clark's Memorial Obverse of Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by the dates of her reign (1952-2022) along with the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination of 200 Australian Dollars.
To enhance security the coin includes an authentication feature consisting of a micro-laser engraved letter that is detectable only with a magnifying glass. This detail significantly increases its resistance to counterfeiting.
The Lunar III Dragon 2 oz Gold Coin 2024 contains two troy ounces of 999.9/1000 pure gold with a metric weight of 62.20 grams. It measures 40.90 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 3.80 mm.
