Perth Mint

The reverse of the Australian Kangaroo ½ oz Gold Coin 2024 displays a kangaroo about to leap over a dry creek bed. The design, by Wade Robinson, also shows a windmill and a water storage tank in the background. The mintmark is shown as ‘P125’ to celebrate 125 years of the Perth Mint and the weight and purity are also given.
The obverse of the coin showcases Dan Thorne’s portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The monetary denomination is included, shown as ‘50 DOLLARS’. The coin is recognised as legal tender in Australia.
The design includes a security feature of a micro laser-engraved letter that is only visible under magnification.
The Australian Kangaroo ½ oz Gold Coin 2024 is minted from half a troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold with a metric weight of 15.55 grams. It measures 25.60 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 2.40 mm. The 2024 Kangaroo bullion coin is also available as a 1 oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz in gold and 1 oz in silver.
