The 2019 edition of the Kangaroo gold coin celebrates the 33rd year of the series. The kangaroo bullion coin program from the Perth Mint is one of the most popular in the world.
The 2019 Kangaroo ½ oz gold coin is 99.99% pure gold and will have a mintage of no more than 100,000 coins.
The new design for 2019 is available in a number of different sizes, which include 1 kilo, 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz.
The new design features a kangaroo standing on a grass mound. Behind the kangaroo are two trees that bend along the edge of the coin. The rising sun can be seen in the background. The engravings include “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO”, “2019 1/2 OZ 9999 GOLD” and the letter “P”, which stands for the Perth Mint.
The reverse side shows the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The initials “JC” can be seen on the right shoulder of the Queen and represent Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. The inscriptions include “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA” and “50 DOLLARS”.
