Perth Mint

The Lunar II Gold coin series is one of the Perth Mints best selling coin programs. Each year features a new design based on the 12 year Chinese Lunar Calendar. The series began in 2008 with the “Year of the Rat” and ends in 2019 with the “Year of the Pig”.

The front side of the coins shows a large pig standing on a field as the main motif. The Chinese character for pig is engraved on the top portion of the coin. The inscription “Year of the Pig” is written on the bottom outer edge.

The reverse side depicts a right side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with diadem. The inscriptions around the outer edge are the name of the regent “ELIZABETH II”, the country of origin “AUSTRALIA”, the nominal value of “25 DOLLARS”, the year of issue “2019” and the weight and purity “¼ oz 9999 GOLD”.
