The Perth Mint chose the dragon as the main motif, which is the most powerful mythical creature in Chinese culture.

Design
The motif side of the coin depicts the Chinese Lunar dragon with the flaming pearl. In the background are clouds, wind and water. The mint mark “P” is embossed to the right of the dragon.
The value side of the coin depicts the Ian-Rank Broadley portrait of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In the background are sun rays that emanate from the center. The inscriptions on the top read “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA 1oz 9999 Au”. The nominal value of “100 Dollars” and the date of issue “2018” are inscripted below the motif of the Queen.
