Perth Mint
The Perth Mint is one of the world’s most renowned precious metal mints. Founded in 1899 in Perth, Australia, as a branch of the British Royal Mint, it is now owned by the Government of Western Australia. The ½ oz Gold Kangaroo from the prestigious Perth Mint in Australia. Known for producing some of the highest quality coins, along with their beautiful yearly changing design, these coins are highly sought after.
The Gold Kangaroo was originally known as the “Gold Nugget”. The first design of the coin featured images of gold nuggets from 1986-1989. In 1989 the design changed to depict the Kangaroo which were deemed to be a more world recognised symbol of Australia.
Design/Appearance
This 1/2oz coin features the side view of a sitting, right facing adolescent Kangaroo.
Inscribed around the edge of the coin is ‘The Australian Nugget’ Along with the year, and denomination, and purity.
