The 1994 1/2oz Gold Kangaroo published by the highly esteemed Perth Mint in Australia. The first coins in the series published in 1986 -1989 featured famous gold nuggets found in the country. The image changed in 1990 to that of a Kangaroo, making it’s origins instantly recognizable.
The design changes every year which create more interest in the series. A ½ oz bullion coin is perfect for investors looking for smaller weight, high quality coins.
This ½ oz coin features a sitting, left facing Whiptailed Wallaby, with a baby in it’s pouch. A Wallaby is closely related to the Kangaroo and Wallaroo, and is the smallest of the three.
The name is inscribed underneath the image, above her tail.
The obverse features a right facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
