The 1/2oz 1992 Gold Kangaroo from Australia/s Perth Mint. World known for producing some of the highest quality gold coins. The image of the Kangaroo changes yearly, which adds to the appeal of the series.
The Gold Kangaroo was originally known as the “Gold Nugget”. The first design of the coin featured images of gold nuggets from 1986-1989. In 1989 the design changed to depict Kangaroo’s which were deemed to be a more world recognized symbol of Australia.
This ½ oz coin features a right facing Common Wallaroo. A Wallaroo is closely related to the Kangaroo, just a bit smaller. The name is inscribed under the image.
The obverse features a right facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
