The 2006 Lunar Dog ½ oz gold coin is the 11th edition in the popular Lunar I gold coin series from the Perth Mint. The Lunar gold coin series was the first bullion coin series modeled after the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The series began in 1996 with the “Lunar Mouse” and ended in 2007 with the “Lunar Pig”.
